Tuesday, October 14, 2014 – 10:00 a.m.

Both candidates running in the 31st Congressional District contest will finally have some face time together.

Pete Aguilar (D-Redlands) and Paul Chabot (R-Rancho Cucamonga) are set to jointly appear at two upcoming events.

A debate, hosted by the Redlands Daily facts, is scheduled to be held Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at ESRI, located at 380 New York Street in Redlands.

On Tuesday, the Rotary Club of San Bernardino will host a luncheon at the Arrowhead Country Club, located at 3433 Parkside Drive in San Bernardino.

Both candidates have been running rather lackluster campaigns. Other than trading barbs over television spots, nothing much is going on.

The Chabot operation is money starved, needing newpaper coverage to fill the vacuum, while Aguilar is benefiting from the largess of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and House Majority PAC.

Voter turnout may have an impact on this contest, especially if Democrats fail to materialize at the polls. Otherwise, Aguilar remains favored.

Just 21 days remian until Election Day.
