U.S. Representative Gloria Negrete-McLeod continues to benefit from big money support in her quest for a seat on the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors.

New filings, made with the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters, by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), show the union has kicked in another $50,000 to the San Bernardino County Homecare Workers United for Gloria Negrete-McLeod for Supervisor 2014 political action committee. SEIU has transferred $350,000 into the committee since July 1, and has funded a total of $850,000, year-to-date.

The funds are being used in a seperate independent expenditre campaign supporting Negrete-McLoed.

The SEIU money, along with the nearly $950,000 in Negrete-McLeod’s war chest, makes the contest one of the most expensive in county history. County campaign finance limits forbid any coordination between SEIU and any candidate-controlled campaign committee.

Negrete-McLeod faces State Assemblyman Curt Hagman in a November 4 runoff election.

The winner will replace Gary Ovitt, who is retiring in December.
