The heat is slowly inching up in the race between Paul Chabot (R-Rancho Cucamonga) and Pete Aguilar (D-Redlands). Both men are vying to represent the 31st Congressional District.

The latest is news coming out of the Democratic National Campaign Committee (DCCC). The group that is ramping up its attacks on Chabot.

Sources say the DCCC has essentially decided to take the reigns from Aguilar, who has a history of running piss-poor campaigns. Two years ago Aguilar failed to make the runoof for the same seat.

Aguilar will have minimal resources to run a skeletal name identification campaign, while the DCCC will handle major campaigns attacks against Chabot via independent expenditure.

So far, both sides have generated mediocre, at best, television spots attacking the other.

Most credible political handicappers have this seat as a democrat pickup in November.

A link was found to this anti-Chabot website on The Sun newspaper website.

It’ll be interesting to see if the DCCC goes after Chabot on his non-proft business activity.

To date, the National Republican Congressional Committee has been silent on assistance for Chabot.
