Ontario >> It seems that the storms in the City Council meetings have passed, with Tuesday night’s meeting going smoothly with no outbursts or deviation from the agenda.

This was the first meeting since sanctions were levied on Councilman Paul Vincent Avila and although he made a statement during the public comment portion of the meeting, he didn’t yell, threaten or accuse anyone. For the rest of the meeting, he stayed quiet and reserved, contributing to the discussion of the agenda items and voting accordingly.

Avila left the meeting during the council matters portion of the meeting, saying he had other things to attend to. It was during this portion of the meeting that the rest of the council discussed the findings of the City Attorney’s Office regarding the investigation of claims made by Councilwoman Debra Dorst-Porada regarding Avila’s behavior toward her. The City Attorney’s office reiterated that the complaints made were accurate, but Mayor Paul Leon said that he had “had enough” of the topic and wished to move on.
