A joint public meeting between supervisors in San Bernardino and Riverside counties is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Riverside County Administrative Center.

Supervisors will discuss topics of regional significance including the local impacts of the Affordable Care Act, prison realignment and the future of L.A./Ontario International Airport.

“We have a lot in common with our neighbors in Riverside County, so it’s important for us to come together from time to time to discuss issues that affect our residents and business communities,” San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Janice Rutherford said in a statement.

The two boards will also discuss forming a subcommittee on inter-county cooperation to ensure issues of regional importance will be discussed in a timely manner.

The last time the two boards conducted a joint meeting was in February 2008 in Sacramento.

In the last fiscal year, San Bernardino County received $9.4 million in state and federal funding to implement the Affordable Care Act. During the Covered California pre-enrollment and open enrollment periods from October through March 31, the county’s case load increased by 64,000.

Ontario filed a lawsuit in June 2013 against the city of Los Angeles and Los Angeles World Airports in an attempt to rescind or reform the terms of a 1967 agreement that gave control of L.A./Ontario International Airport to LAWA. Local officials reported last month that they continue to make progress with Los Angeles in negotiating for control of the airport.
