Tribune spinoff valuation signals weak business model of print news

An analyst says the combined equity value of the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Baltimore Sun and five other daily newspapers under one corporate umbrella, would be $635 million, according to CRT Capital Group.

That’s it!

The not so surprising valuation comes as owner Tribune Publishing is set to spinoff the newspapers from its broadcasting and other assets.
