APPLE VALLEY — Three of the town’s five council seats will be open for election in November. The seats are held by Curt Emick, Scott Nassif and Barb Stanton.

All three were elected to four-year terms on Nov. 2, 2010.

Emick, a pharmacist, said he will run for office again. He thinks the town’s greatest accomplishment in the past four years is being part of the cooperative marketing effort to outside businesses called Opportunity High Desert, which presents the common interests of the town, cities of the Victor Valley and Barstow.

Nassif is a local business owner and CEO of High Desert Auto Supply Inc., doing business as NAPA Auto Parts. He said he’ll file paperwork for a fourth term on the council.

He noted several of the town’s accomplishments during the past four years: start of construction on the Yucca Loma Bridge, building reserves during a time of lower property taxes and the dissolution of redevelopment agencies statewide and spearheading Opportunity High Desert.
