ONTARIO >> The City Council passed a nearly $470.25 million budget for 2014-15, an increase of $7.74 million over the current fiscal year, at a special meeting on Thursday evening.

Four council members voted in favor of the budget proposed by City Manager Al Boling. Councilman Paul Avila abstained, saying he had concerns about certain line items in the budget.

The council also unanimously passed the Five Year Capital Improvement Expenditure Plan and Expenditure Strategy.

The council votes were taken after presentations from various city agencies, such as the Police Department, the Fire Department and the Ontario Convention Center.
