U.S. Consumer Confidence Index hits post-recession high

The Consumer Confidence Index hit 85.2 in June, according to the Conference Board.

It’s up from 82.2 in May an dthe highest since the 2008 financial meltdown.

New Home sales climb in May

Sales of new homes climbed 18.6% in May.

It’s the largest percentage increase since May 2008. Price gains showed signs of slowing, with additional inventory of new an previously-owned properties going on the market.

The current year-over-year change has slowed to +10.8%, according ot Case-Shiller.

No San Bernardino budget yet — What a surprise!

San Bernardino has yet to pass an operating budget for its 2014-15 fiscal year, which starts July 1.

Is anyone really surprised?

The delay centers on the scope of cuts to city fire services.

The city needs to have a plan in place in order to have at least some credibility going forward.
