RANCHO CUCAMONGA >> A major global developer of warehousing and logistics centers is bringing a new facility to this city and it’s expected to bring thousands of jobs with it.

Australia-based Goodman Group, and its Irvine-based North American subsidiary Goodman Birtcher, announced this week development of a new $150 million logistics center, over 75 acres in Rancho Cucamonga.

The 1.6 million-square-foot center, at the southwest corner of Arrow Route and Etiwanda Avenue, will be called the Goodman Logistics Center Rancho Cucamonga, and will comprise two facilities at about 556,000 square feet and 1,030,000 square feet.

The smaller facility is expected to be completed in March, and the larger building is expected to open in May. Each could house four businesses, though Birtcher said the aim is for one large company to be housed in each.

Brandon Birtcher, CEO of Goodman Birtcher, said the company chose Rancho Cucamonga because of its proximity to two freeways.
