The Democratic National Committee (DNC) hit Lesli Gooch (R-Rancho Cucamonga) in mailboxes again today.

The Democrats, in their quest to take the 31st Congressional District, have been unexpectedly hammering on Gooch, via direct mail and radio, over the past several days.

Gooch must be threatening to take a top-two spot along side Paul Chabot (R-Rancho Cucamonga). Otherwise, why would they care?

Three of the four Democrats, in the broad field of seven, have been relentlessly hiting each other for weeks now. The result could possibly be self-inflicted wounds that open the door for the GOP to take the top two open primary spots, leaving Dems, once again, out in the cold.

If it happens, it’ll mean the end of Mayor Pete Aguilar’s (D-Redlands) quest for higher office, and a huge embarassment for the Democrat Party.

We’ll find out late Tuesday night.
