All of the exploitation of the Christopher Dorner manhunt, with the exception of the victims, has benefited many involved.
But there’s another victim in the saga that never should have been.
The new victims more than one-year later are the owners of the property where Dorner was eventually cornered.
Sources say a promise by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department to rebuild the home owned by Cathy Bernes, and her husband, has apparently went no where.
The Bernes’ had the unfortunate luck of Dorner holding-up in their mountain home. A home that was eventually burned to the ground by pyrotechnic devices deployed by deputies. Damage that no insurance company in their right mind would reimburse.
Everyone knows that when county government, expecially San Bernardino County government, says “We’ll get right on that.”, when translated, means don’t hold your breath.
Hopefully this situation changes, and the county pays up.
