Let’s end the Federal Bureau of Investigation into the San Bernardino County Jail System today.
Really!
The sky is blue, the grass is green, everything is fine.
With just 12-days left, San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner John McMahon must be having a fear of falling below 50-percent in the June 3 primary.
Why you ask? McMahon is back pimping his line of “The inmate abuse is an isolated incident.”, to the local newspapers, and they’re printing it.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) must be ready to pack up and leave based on this latest pronouncement. McMahon has solved the case and made findings. It’s a done deal.
To bolster his assertion, McMahon gave a guided tour of the West Valley Detention Center this week. The place looked great. So nothing neferious could be happening there.
Problem solved!
The bad press from the Los Angeles County Sheriff jail scandal, and the Riverside County District Attorney, can’t be helping public perception of local law enforcement by any stretch.
Nevertheless, it would be interesting to know if the feds enjoy McMahon coming out and interfering with their investigation?
Also, sources say NBC is looking into the facts surrounding a federal lawsuit recently filed against McMahon, and the department, over an assault involving four African-American women at a Del Taco restaurant in the city of Adelanto.
No too much to spin here. Sodomy, electric shock, potential Hippa Violations…yeah “nothing to see here.”
McMahon and ramos. Anyone see a connection?
Isn’t it interesting that ramos and McMahon have the same dirtbag consultant ellis? All three belong in jail I believe.
I think the point of the article is the fact that an FBI investigation is underway.
Isn’t McMahon suppose to keep his mouth shut?
OK, SBCo. Human Resources Director Andrew Lameberto, what do you have to say for yourself concerning #6 above, you really are the WORST COUNTY EMPLOYEE…’cause the Devil made you do it right?
Obviously HR Director Lameberto’s KEEPING A LID ON the Administration’s aiding and abetting the violation of State and Federal fair employment and labor laws continues… whether it be with the RN’s or SBPEA represented employees… is this kind of UNION BUSTING activity PROOF ENOUGH O LAME ONE of your disallowing EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYMENT across the County??
McMahon is a clown and needs to shut up.
McMahon must be getting advise from Paul Tanaka.
Sheriff John McMahon’s campaign released a new short video featuring members of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department who, among other items, discuss the Dorner manhunt. Detective Alex Collins, who was shot four times by Christopher Dorner last year, talks about the shooting and his recovery.
Law enforcement shootings became a focus of this Sheriff’s race during a debate between the three candidates, McMahon and challengers Paul Schrader and Cliff Harris, when Schrader claimed he was shot and stabbed in the line of duty. Members of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department were quick to call Schrader out on the claims after he would not provide details of either incident.
Over a period of months, inquiries were sent to the West Memphis Police Department in Arkansas where Schrader claimed the incident occurred. The only confirmation of an “incident” was by a current captain who stated Schrader may have been hit during a training exercise at the range.
According to Captain Ken Mitchell, “I know of no documented records confirming either of these alleged injuries. However, I did work with Mr. Shrader for a portion of the time (1/91 until he left in 1993) he worked for the West Memphis Police Department.
“I do recall hearing from and discussing with co-workers an accident involving Mr. Schrader receiving an arm injury from a bullet that supposedly fragmented during training at our firing range. I was not at the range when the accident occurred. That is the only knowledge I have of him ever being shot.”
The result is a barrage of “stolen valor” accusations against Schrader. Sworn personnel are expressing outrage over Schrader’s claim when one of their own died on the mountain that day and Collins suffered injuries to his face, chest, leg and arm. Simply put, they say they do not want someone leading their department who insults the real sacrifice made by their fellow officers.
LSW,
IS THAT REALLY YOU?!
WOW! VERY FUNNY!
THE “WONDER” IN YOU WAS REALLY BURIED!
I THINK YOUR HUMOR IS WAY MORE EFFECTIVE THAT THOSE LONG WINDED LETTERS.
AGAIN, VERY VERY FUNNY, YOU NAILED SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY IN A NUT SHELL!
“THAN” THOSE
SORRY
11 you have a FBI investigation, or a bad shooting of a citizen you can share? How about a transcript with some perjured testimony? A multi million dollar law suit pay out perhaps?
Tic, tic, tic… wait for it (!?:)
Three men with long backgrounds in law enforcement are running for San Bernardino County Sheriff, each with different opinions on how to run the department, which covers both growing urban areas and huge stretches of rural land.
The current sheriff, John McMahon, was appointed to the office in late 2012 after Rod Hoops retired. McMahon is running against Clifton Harris, who has worked as a deputy for both the Riverside and San Bernardino County sheriff departments, and Rancho Cucamonga resident Paul Schrader, a deputy sheriff for Los Angeles County who also ran for San Bernardino County sheriff in 2010.
McMahon proposes expanding current programs and adding new ones to help reduce recidivism for low-level offenders; Harris wants deputies to develop stronger bonds with the communities they patrol; Schrader sees some law-enforcement techniques, such as DUI checkpoints and gun buy-backs as wasteful and unproductive.
The issues include: state prison realignment, early inmate releases due to jail overcrowding, criminal recidivism; community policing and administration of concealed-carry weapon applications.
McMahon would reduce recidivism by expanding job-training, parenting and drug-treatment programs for low-level offenders.
Additional space in High Desert Detention Center in jail “will give us a little breathing room, but the rehabilitation component of corrections is critical. We do not have enough rooms in our jails to house every inmate at the recidivism rate that we have currently,” which he puts at the mid-40 percent for those under county probation control.
He said his office will work with county probation and the Department of Behavioral Health to cut the recidivism rate. “We cannot build ourselves out of this problem.”
Harris said as sheriff he would use the power of the office to “influence my fellow elected officials to come together and bring faith-based and other non-profits to the table” to help with bringing people back into society and the work force.
“If you only address crime through administration of the penal code, you miss a large chunk of what we can do together to make the community safer,” Harris said. “It involves a more complex set of social issues, and law enforcement has to acknowledge those issues are having an effect on our crime problem.”
Schrader said the department “needs to be more creative about what we are doing with low-level offenders.” He said programs such as work-release and inmate fire crews are worthy, but not enough after realignment was instituted.
He said additional jail space is costly, and may not be the solution. He proposes having the Sheriff’s Department manage a type of county security housing for low-level, non-violent inmates which would not have to meet jail standards.
Occupants “would have a contract with the sheriff — they wouldn’t be considered inmates. It would allow them to keep working so their family doesn’t have to go on welfare. It would give people a chance to work. They would have to report back, and if they violate the contract, they go back to jail.”
The U.S. 9th Circuit recently ruled that San Diego County had overreached in its “show good cause” application requirements for California’s concealed-carry permit law for weapons. The ruling, which presumably would affect other counties whose requirements were similar or even went further than San Diego County’s, is currently on hold as several groups, including the state attorney general’s office, seek further hearings.
The three candidates outlined their views:
Harris said he supports the Second Amendment, but added, “we are not in a society where we are back in the 1800s.” He said an applicant would have to undergo a background check, an interview, be firearm qualified , have continual gun safety education and undergo a mental health evaluation. He said those rejected for a permit will get a written explanation.
McMahon said his deparment will “continue to interpret ‘good cause’ very broadlyOut of the 735 people that applied for CCW in 2013…only 15 or so did not get their CCW (carry concealed weapon).” McMahon said background checks are important , but because “our neighboring counties are not as likely to issue… folks from other counties with a vacation home in our county apply, and claim their primary residence is in San Bernardino County.” Those, he rejects. “My name is on the bottom of those CCWs.”
Schrader noted it’s a 20,000-square mile county. “The police and sheriff’s deputies cannot protect you 24 hours a day. We want to make sure that people are not convicted felons and not mentally ill. But if you aren’t, you should be able to get those permits,” he said. He additionally supports the return of “open-carry” to California, and changing the state law from “may issue” to “shall issue’ for gun-carrying permits and laws.
It appears by all indication that McMahon and Ramos are gone. Good job Jim and Ken.
“Also, sources say NBC is looking into the facts surrounding a federal lawsuit recently filed against McMahon, and the department, over an assault involving four African-American women at a Del Taco restaurant in the city of Adelanto.”
NBC,
In case you missed it, here’s a heads-up before you put too much time and energy looking into those facts…

EXHIBITION BOXING MATCH: James Mills VS. Anonymous
WIMPY:In a unanimous decision, all three judges had it for JAMES MILLS.
A) Filing a last minute lawsuit for a purely POLITICAL purpose, and the sole intent being to SLING MUD and falsely ***STAIN*** a candidates name, is just plain disgusting, negligent and wrong.
B) The CONTAMINATED WATER in the Inland Empire does not “DISCRIMINATE” based on religion, ethnicity or PROFESSION …. once the contaminants find their way to a brain suffering from a low immune system, the brain’s ability to THINK, RATIONALIZE, ASSES SITUATIONS, and to apply COMMON SENSE start to weaken and dwindle – thus so many frivolous lawsuits filed in San Bernardino County by weak-minded attorneys and plaintiffs:

RISTOW -V- COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO, ET AL

Cheryl Ristow had full knowledge of District Attorney Mike Ramos’ history of being a shameless long time Play Boy. STILL, Ristow WILLINGLY ran around like a princess enjoying all the attention, glamor and perks that go along with dating a man in position of power and influence…
But when she, too, was easily disposed of, she called it “sexual harassment” and her scorn was fanned by attorney Reiss because he saw dollar signs and figured the county would buckle and settle.
THIS IS A STUPID CASE AND A WASTE OF TIME… Cheryl Ristow should feel shame for announcing this to the world, but I guess her bottom line was the money she was counting the BOS would fork over.

“My opinion is that it is completely baseless and although some incident obviously occurred, I hardly doubt it is as reported in the papers…. and if you take the sheriffs name out of the lawsuit and read it with an open unbiased mind, you would see exactly what I’m talking about…. Complete comedy.”
