Several law enforcement unions on Monday called for Riverside County District Attorney Paul Zellerbach to resign from office in the wake of allegations that he illegally tampered with opponent Mike Hestrin’s campaign signs in Indio last week.

UPLAND >> Former Upland Mayor John Pomierski will be released from prison Tuesday, five months earlier than expected for federal bribery charges, his attorney said.

Pomierski, 60, will be released from state prison in Taft in Kern County.
