Speaking of blowing power.

The democrats in the California State Senate, who have seemingly had it their way in recent times, have blown their supermajority for the year.

Two Senators, who have been either criminally charged, or convicted, have now been joined by a third.

The first two men, Roderick Wright and Ron Calderon, are on indefinite paid leave. Now another chamber member looks to be another chink in democrat caucus numbers.

State Senator Leland Yee (D-San Francisco) has been indicted by a Federal Grand Jury, on, among other things, weapons charges. The indictment would make for a good “B” Movie.

Senate President Pro Tempore Darrell Steinberg is reportedly beside himself. He wants Yee gone now.

“Resign or be suspended” Steinberg says.

Either way, Senate republicans now have the ability to block tax and borrowing measures for the remainder of the legislative session.

It’s an interesting string of developments.
