Lawsuit filed this week alleges false candidate statement

San Bernardino County District Attorney candidate Grover Merritt said Tuesday that he was open to settling a lawsuit brought forth this week by a legal union over language on his recent candidate statement, attributing their contention to “silliness in the political season.”

Which makes David Plouffe’s comments over the weekend all the more telling for Democrats as they look nervously toward the November midterm elections.
