The fallout from the scandal involving Sacramento lobbyist Kevin Sloat and his firm Sloat, Higgins, Jensen and Associates, has touched several Southern California legislators, in addition to the Governor himself.
Sloat has agreed to pay a record fine of $133,500, for throwing lavish parties to entertain and lobby elected officials.
Parties that state regulators determined exceeded the maximum $500 limit per official.
The affected officials, some 40 statewide, were essentially given a pass. The FPPC determined the officials, themselves, were unaware the limit was exceeded.
The California Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) has issue warning letters to the following elected officials:
20140068 – Connie Conway for Assembly 2012
20140069 – Lou Correa for State Senate 2010
20140082 – Friends of Jeff Miller
20140083 – Gloria Negrete-McLeod Senate 2010
Thank you for your post and the individual links directed to the each letter. These extra steps on your part are appreciated by your readers.
