Woo hoo! The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Service (CMS) announced over the weekend that some 1.1 million consumers enrolled, or signed-up, for healthcare coverage through government-run exchanges.

Even though premiums must still be collected for most of that number.

The number excludes the hundreds of thousands that have signed up for taxpayer-funded Medicaid. In California it’s known has Medi-Cal.

But last Tuesday was the deadline to sign-up for coverage effective January 1, 2014.

However, the 800-lb Gorilla in the room, that no one wants to talk about is the now 6 million Americans, and climbing, that have been cancelled due to requirements of Obamacare.

There’s much more to come starting Wednesday, when all the non-delayed taxes, fees and other requirements take effect.
