SAN BERNARDINO • Cal State San Bernardino’s nursing lab will be renamed the Dr. Prem Reddy Nursing Laboratory after Reddy made a $500,000 donation to the university’s nursing program, according to a CSUSB news release.

Reddy is a major owner of Prime Healthcare Services Inc., which owns 23 hospitals including its flagship, Desert Valley Hospital in Victorville.

“This is a great day for our nursing students and the community they will serve after graduation,” CSUSB President Tomas Morales said in the release. “Dr. Reddy’s generosity will make a remarkable difference, elevating opportunities for one of the premier academic programs in the entire Inland Empire.”

Reddy has been a longtime supporter of CSUSB, according to the release. In 2006, the Dr. Prem Reddy Academic Excellence Scholarship was established for eligible fulltime pre-med nursing and health education students who qualified for the scholarship and maintained a minimum 3.5 GPA at the university.
