VICTORVILLE • San Bernardino County sheriff candidate Paul Schrader is scheduled to speak Saturday at the John Birch Society’s monthly meeting.

The JBS is a national organization with local chapters whose members “regularly meet at least monthly to educate, motivate and activate for effective change back to limited government and lower taxes,” according to the group’s website.

Schrader, a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy, is one of two candidates thus far challenging current Sheriff John McMahon in 2014. Clifton Harris, a former deputy in Riverside and San Bernardino counties, announced his candidacy in October.
