UPLAND>> A developer has been given the go-ahead to start construction on the Magnolia Heights Community at the corner of Colonies Parkways and Campus Avenue in the Colonies at San Antonio in northeast Upland.
Rancho Cucamonga-based Frontier Communities, a subsidiary of Frontier Enterprises, expects to begin construction on the 97-single-family-residences in December with a complete build out by 2014.
“It’s one of our biggest projects for next year. We’re very excited about it,” said Adam Collier, planning manager for Frontier Communities, said Wednesday to the Upland Planning Commission, which approved the project.
The two-story homes will range in size from 1,829 to 2,337 square feet. There will be four floor plans with three architectural styles per floor plan, according to a city staff report.
Home prices will start around $475,000.
Magnolia Heights is based on similar developments in the area such as Edenglen in Chino and new Model Colony in Ontario.
The project has about 40 percent fewer homes than zoning allows.
