Surprisingly, the 2014 race for San Bernardino County District Attorney already has four candidates.

So far, the field contains incumbent Michael A. Ramos, Deputy District Attorney Grover Merritt, and local Attorney’s Frank Guzman and Bob Conaway.

This morning the Guzman camp told InlandPolitics.com they were definitely in mix.

In 2010, in a three-way contest, Conaway and Guzman nearly forced Ramos into a runoff election, garnering 46% of the vote collectively.

A field of four pretty much ensures a November 2014 runoff between the top two vote-getters.

The official filing period for the June 3, 2014 Primary Election opens in February.
