March Air Reserve Base >> The federal government’s partial shutdown may have ended, but continuing uncertainty about the government’s ability to pay its bills and automatic sequestration cuts have led to a planned air show near Riverside being canceled.

March Air Reserve Base officials announced Tuesday that the March Air Reserve Base 2014 Air Show: Thunder Over the Empire, originally planned for March 22 and 23, has been canceled.

Officials cited the budget cuts under the Budget Control Act of 2011, better known as “sequestration,” and “the uncertainty created by operations under a limited continuing resolution,” following the federal government’s partial shutdown this month, in a press release issued at midday.
