The Redlands Area Democratic Club will host a forum for Democratic candidates to express their views on policy issues as they attempt to oust Republican Gary Miller from his 31st District seat in 2014.

Saturday will be the first time Democratic candidates attend a public event together in their pursuit to represent the region that stretches from Redlands to Rancho Cucamonga.

Three of the four Democrats told organizers they will attend the forum at the International Union Operating Engineers Hall, 1647 W. Lugonia Ave., Redlands. They are Redlands Mayor Pete Aguilar, former Rep. Joe Baca and Colton attorney Eloise Gomez Reyes.

RADC President Steve Chapman said candidate Danny Tillman, a San Bernardino City Unified School District board member, has declined invitation. Tillman could not be reached by phone to confirm his absence.

Doors will open to the public at 1 p.m. and the forum will begin at 1:30 p.m., according to Chapman. Candidates will receive a list of five or six questions that they will be able to review for a short period of time before delivering their answers, he added.
