UPLAND — The City Council will not consider its 2013-14 fiscal year budget during Monday’s council meeting as previously planned.

City Manager Stephen Dunn has postponed the budget presentation to the Finance and Economic Development Committee, who makes a recommendation to the council, to July 29 to allow council members more time to review it before voting.

Dunn wanted the council to have the budget for at least a week before having to vote.

“This is more out of respect again for the whole council, but I know Councilman (Glenn) Bozar, he is relatively new and has people helping him review some of the stuff,” Dunn said. “We wanted to make sure they had plenty of time.”

Bozar said having a new finance director will help the budget oversight process.
