Rep. Paul Cook (R-Yucca Valley) helped two congressional bills advance out of key Veterans Affairs subcommittees this week.

The Prioritizing Urgent Claims for Veterans Act and Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program Reauthorization Act left subcommittees on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively, according to a news release from Cook’s office.

“These veterans are our nation’s heroes and the current veterans’ claims backlog is doing them a terrible disservice,” Cook said in a written statement. “There are too many veterans that can’t get access to the health care they deserve. My bill won’t solve everything, but it will help.”
