InlandPolitics.com has learned that former Rancho Cucamonga attorney James Reiss has been arrested.
Official records indicate Reiss was arrested Thursday, June 20, by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office. He was subsequently booked into the San Dimas Detention Facility on $3.7 million bail.
InlandPolitics.com contacted the District Attorney’s office, who confirmed that Reiss was charged under a criminal complaint involving forgery, filed on June 7.
No other details were available.
On March 16, 2013, Reiss was disbarred by the California Supreme Court for multiple violations under the rules of professional conduct. Conduct involving theft of client funds.
State Bar records highlight several incidents of misconduct.
Reiss previously represented former Rancho Cucamonga City Councilman Rex Gutierrez.
