LOS ANGELES – The city’s top administrator issued a report Monday to Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa detailing what action it and Los Angeles World Airports should take in response to Ontario’s claim to get control of LA/Ontario International Airport.

Miguel Santana, city administrative officer for LA, outlined two recommendations for the mayor, which would also be subject to the approval of the city council.

The first, requests Santana work with LAWA to examine other alternatives to manage ONT, and report back with any recommendations to the city council.

Santana also recomends the mayor direct the city attorney with with LAWA and CAO to determine the validity of Ontario’s claim, and what legal options it could pursue. The city attorney would then advise the CAO and LAWA on how best to proceed. A report on the developments would be given to the city council.
