Former San Bernardino County Supervisor Neil Derry/THE PRESS-ENTERPRISE
February 09, 2013; 12:33 PM
While former San Bernardino County Supervisor Neil Derry lost his bid for chairman of the San Bernardino County Republican Party, he plans to remain active as its vice-chairman.

Who told Neal he could get the number one spot in light of the past situation?
WHO are these political advisors who suggest ALL is well because they say so.
I don’t care what side of the aisle your on.
I shot my pig months ago. NO MORE lipstick.
The sheep are dying, they are not voting like they use too. SORRY!!!
I mean serious Neil, who with half a brain is going to sign off on someone who did stand up to the man and call BS?
Neil you should have WATCHED all the episodes of “The West Wing” series which won many AWARDS.
It’s all about DEMORATS, but it still tells and interesting story about life, and politics.
Since two presidents, and many former advisors and chiefs of staffs from BOTH parties signed off on the series, I’d say if you watched it, you might have been better prepared for your DAY with Mike Ramos and company.
AntiCorruptionUnit:
“Mike Ramos and company” placed Neil Derry in a no-win situation. If he had not agreed to the deal where Judge Dest dismissed the felony charges, the James Ramos campaign would have portrayed him as having felony charges hanging over his head.
In retrospect, perhaps fighting it out would have been a better alternative, but who knows.
As I have said many times before, Mike Ramos was clearly out to get Neil Derry, and all he could come up with was the alleged laundering of a fully reported $5,000 campaign contribution. If that was all he could find, there was not much to be found.
Unfortunately, the plan worked, and the best County Supervisor I have seen in over 40 years of following county politics is out, and James Ramos is in.
I said early on that James Ramos was not qualified to be a County Supervisor; can any of his supporters point to anything he has done in his first two months in office to suggest otherwise?
James Ramos is jinxed already. They are closing all the courts in his district. He has a dangerous lunatic running around scaring off the skiers, the county fiscal situation just got worse, and he is invisible.
Sorry OoF Neil could of demanded a jury trial in 60 days, if he had fought it, it would have been over before the campaign.
Neil had two lame duck attorneys to boot.
AntiCorruptionUnit:
Not sure about the “two lame duck attorneys,” but as to Neil Derry being able to demand “a jury trial in 60 days,” have you noticed how fast The Colonies prosecution has been proceeding?
It’s been over 3 years since the press conference, and the prosecution has used every trick in the book to delay things, such as last minute motions and appeals to 2 different courts.
Do you actually think they would have not delayed things beyond the election had Judge Dest had not intervened?
hello again:
You bring up an excellent point about James Ramos being “invisible.”
In addition to a “dangerous lunatic running around scaring off the skiers,” he has had a major transportation corridor (Highway 38) into part of his district closed due to a serious traffic accident.
There is no doubt in my mind that Neil Derry would have been front and center during these situations.
Yes OoF but Derry’s case was not 1/16th
the complexity of the Colonies.
The defendant demands their trial within
60 days, not the DA.
Either demand your day in court or allow the
DA to suck you into the strategy of delay tactics.
Attorneys of any noteworthy achievement in
the political arena around here has been
Maline and Larson.
Derry had a truckload of dirt on Ramos more
than anyone else. Derry knew where to find
more if he needed it.
I bet anything Derry’s attorney didn’t have
the courage or desire to sling it either.
Oh well the results are obvious.
James Ramos was on TV with that scum McMahon. He does a great job allowing McMahon to suck up to him. Great team of scum!
Has Law Enforcement checked inside the reservation?
Anon, see the next edition of the LAW ENFORCEMENT NEWS.
Good luck Neil, u deserve it!
Don’t take any wooden nickels from Hagman though, he’s a bizne$$man and goes where the money is, even if it means selling-out the GOP to the DemoRats.
You’re right though, the sooner the GOP can distance themselves from the Postmus Era, and with the seated Assemblyman R-Chino Hills still doing bizne$$ with the admitted felon, u should have been voted #1 if the SBCo. GOP really wants to make a comeback (do they?)
In the last election, the former-Congressman R-Diamond Bar was doing the same thing in support of your opponent in the 3rd District Sups race… SHOW ME THE MONEY, don’t worry, be happy, even if he’s a DemoRat!
Deja Vu (all over again… and the Party never ends?)
Derry’s a weak sister. Also, ACU….Do not forget that his political strategists are the same ones you suck up to and that run this blog site
Thanks red without you around no one
would be able to remind me or us of that.
Red Anon, Yo’ Mama wears Army boots!
How’s it gong marching lockstep with the rest of the benefitting side of this partisan equation called gobberment, that Obamanation of an organization??
U being a DemoRat yourself, you’ve got nothing (more) to say, except…
MONEY TALKS
