A judge rejected San Bernardino County’s efforts to recoup $102 million paid in the Colonies settlement, throwing out its damage claims against three other agencies for an agreement he called “unconscionable, unlawful and sordid.”

Okay… so what now?
a) County regroups and ratifys the original 102 million settlement?
b) Colonies comes back and requests 300 million?
c) County appeals and Upland asks for their 6 million in legal fees?
d) Postmus in Bugs Bunny attire holds press conference with DA Ramos?
Mike Ramos is not having a good week.
It seems that the deal he cut with Bill Postmus has resulted in the dismissal of the county lawsuit to recover part of the $102 Million, resulting in a wasted $26 Million.
Now, according to the article, “Kevin Dorse, an attorney for the county,” has called Bill Postmus’ testimony “unreliable.” Bill Postmus is Mike Ramos key witness in the prosecution of The Colonies, and he is being discredited by another county attorney.
If the decision of the State Supreme Court to not hear the county petition on the dismissed charges comes out this week, Mr. Ramos may be doing some heavy drinking this weekend.
“unconscionable, unlawful and sordid.”, “I don’t understand why the County of San Bernardino is not going after the Colonies and why they’re not getting their money back.”
Another judge out of the sphere of corruption agrees with Ramos, Sound’s like a good day for for him to me. And if the court decides to hear the county petition I’ll bet there will still be alot of heavy drinking ,just different folks.
This is getting old. The city where I live is Upland. My city continues to spend-away millions (last time I checked the total was near 6 million) in legal fees. My sources tell me that Upland and/or San Antonio Water Company providing misleading data which resulted in expanding “the scope” and forcing the developer to install flood control improvements. Upland’s former Councilman Ken Willis remains defiant and has dodged testifying for years. The good old boys of Upland – Willis, Thomas, Musser should be forced to face the music in court and join their former mayor, now convicted felon Pomierski in Federal prison for what they have cost the residents of Upland over this litigation.
Repairman:
Good job putting a positive spin on this development, but as a county taxpayer I am still annoyed at Mike Ramos for cutting the deal with Bill Postmus that resulted in the County claims being “tossed,” and the waste of $26 Million.
If the State Supreme Court decides to hear the county petition, I do not foresee the same response from the defendants that you do. This will just be another long delay, and the worst that can happen is that the dismissed charges are reinstated. They will still have to be proven, and with a key witness who is now being discredited by the plaintiffs own attorneys.
GMAFB:
At least the City where you live has received a benefit; hundreds of thousands of dollars in sales tax revenue from the Colonies Crossroads.
Those of us elsewhere in the county have received zero benefit; only the burden of paying all these attorney fees.
Where is the justice ? The judge in San Diego throws out the County’s case because of a conflict Postmus has ? That is not what this case is all about.
The question that needs to be asked is, “who are the culprits that let this development happen, and who is reaping the benefits”? That answers everything!
It is time for the County taxpayers to throw out Mike Ramos. He is too busy screwing the help to pay attention to his job. Who in their right mind would give a deal to Postmus? He is a lying meth freak. The whole county is turning into one big toilet.
Postmus, a lying meth freak “who Colonies used”. There were other things in his closet, that Colonies hung over his head. Colonies also hung some things over Bianne’s head, and to this day, have never came out. I know Postmus, and he did come clean with the D.A.. Where is the justice?
This judges decision may be a sign of things to come.
Postmus came clean with the DA? REALLY?
You might want to ask the FBI on his contradictions to them.
I just have to ask one question on that.
Mr.Postmus were you lying to the DA then, or are you lying to us now?
Of course their are a few attorneys around, and for a mere $50k might argue those glarring facts.
At the $49,990 dollar mark they MIGHT finally say, oh your right, it seems Bill has issues. Oh my I didn’t know he was under the influence of a controlled substance.
Just saying!!!!!
As #11 states, it is all about the money! Postmus is the scapegoat that is now being lead to the slaughter. Someone has to do it, since others will not come clean. Keep your mouth shut, and all goes okay with you, should be our county slogan.
Postmus has recanted all his testimony under Federal Law. Lying to a Federal Agent is a severe prosecutable offense. He denied ever being bribed to the FBI, and that he had any financial interest! Guess lying for a corrupt DA is different than lying TOO a Federal Agent for butt boy Postmus.
Postmus WAS led to the slaughter; who were his attorneys, oh that’s right, they were Public Defenders, no wonder they blindfolded him and led him to the slaughter- Mike Ramos! Funny how Matt Brown got a pass from Mike Ramos, Walker even assured Ramos he would take his little friend under his own wing!
Actually, Postmus attorney was Pat Milligan, NOT a Public Defender. They would have done a better job.
Hilarious that I get invites to follow the meth head Postmus on Twitter. I wouldn’t follow him in anywhere, even if my life depended on it.
