A judge rejected San Bernardino County’s efforts to recoup $102 million paid in the Colonies settlement, throwing out its damage claims against three other agencies for an agreement he called “unconscionable, unlawful and sordid.”

Following county lawyers’ determination that Gil Navarro can’t legally serve on the county school board and San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District Board, the school board voted to let him stay in the position at least until the state attorney general gives an opinion.

Calpensions: CalPERS projects $200 million state rate hike
