SAN BERNARDINO – Councilman John Valdivia wrote a letter of “character witness” in a child custody case stamped with the city seal, which at minimum violates city codes.
Valdivia sent copies of the same letter to family law judges Raymond Haight III on Oct. 29 and Duke Rouse on Jan. 22.
“Without equivocation, (the man) is a fine example of being a father and I wholeheartedly agree that he is a man of integrity, character and committed caregiver,” Valdivia concludes, reflecting the five-paragraph letter’s general tone.
The letter and a faxed copy of it were received but not read, Rouse wrote in response.
“Both the (fax) and original versions are unauthorized ex-parte communications with the court which are not appropriate attempts to contact a judicial officer,” Rouse wrote to Valdivia. “Please do not forward additional correspondence regarding this case.”
Valdivia declined to comment.

Another arrogant Mexican just like the city of Bell.
What’s the problem, Upland’s Ray “Barney” Musser has used City logo for years in his campaign propoganda and spam email blasts. What a Barney!
“Capt.BARNEY Miller” or “BARNEY and Friends”?
Just like the Chief of Police from Montclair, CA showing up at the Board of Supervisors meeting in full uniform representing the Chief’s Union of San Bernardino County. He was there on UNION buisness. I like how he does union business representing the City of Montclair, CA . Idiot! He should be FIRED!!
#3 close on Barney and friends. Barnet Rubble – looks just like him with same IQ also.
#4 That takes the cake!
#4 If that would’ve been a deputy or officer showing up in uniform representing the union shit would’ve hit the fan. Maybe the chief of Montclair is so loved by his Mayor, they allow him to do whatever he wants. That’s bullshit.
#7. B.S. for sure. Reminds me of the former Councilman in Rancho (now felon) Rex Gutierez making threats to RC Firefighters that they cannot wear their uniforms when on duty and eating in local restaurants. True story. Idiot.
Chief Keith Jones has been a member of the Montclair Police Department for over 28 years. I guess that makes him king. Sounds like another John McMahon with those out of state plates on his POV and makes promotions outside of policy. Got to love these fuckin idiots. They are in charge? What a joke.
#8 How hilarious!! Did Rex really say that? It’s too comical-beyond stupid, even scary to think the man was “elected” to run a city. What did Rex say about cops on duty stoping by for a donut, did they have to wear a trench coat over their uniform before entering the donut shop?
#10. Gotta love Rex! It is true. There were many “rexisms” mostly aimed at RC Fire District. When the new Station opened on Day Creek, Rex was heard asking, “Do we really need chrome wheels on the fire trucks?” And maybe the best all-time Rex comment was, “Why don’t we park the fire trucks up near Chaffey College and when there is a call, they can coast downhill. This will save fuel and having all-volunteers will save us $.” Ah Rexy was one of the best electeds herein the IE!
#11…Yeah, I sure love that fellow, he’s a barrel of laughs, not.
Rex’s approach and solutions to Rancho Cucamonga’s financial woes echo those of Obama’s approach and solutions to our country’s financial woes.
Q: How did Rex EVER get into USC?
A: Same way Obama got into Harvard, Affirmative Action.
Next time this issue is fought in the courts, the attorneys arguing against Affirmative Action should use Rex and Obama as Exhibits A & B, and then point out how these Affirmative Action students one day “grow up” and run our cities, states and country…to our detriment!
