SAN BERNARDINO – Friends and colleagues of the late Timothy J. Sabo, who helped lead the charge in the redevelopment of the former Norton Air Force Base, gathered Thursday for a memorial service at St. Bernardine Catholic Church.
Sabo, a Thousand Oaks resident, died on Nov. 28 after a long battle with cancer. He was 65.
Sabo was the longtime attorney for the Inland Valley Development Agency, which is responsible for the non-aviation development at the former base, now San Bernardino International Airport.
Among those at the noon service were Mayor Pat Morris, former Mayor Judith Valles and former city Economic Development director Emil Marzullo.
They described Sabo as a brilliant attorney, a gifted musician and a hard worker committed to high ethical standards.
