As expected, San Bernardino County Supervisors appointed Assistant Sheriff John McMahon to replace retiring Sheriff-Coroner Rod Hoops Tuesday afternoon.
The unanimous vote was expected by many, who have viewed McMahon’s appointment as already baked in the cake.
Two other candidates, Former County Marshal and Sheriff’s Deputy Chief Keith Bushey and Los Angeles Sheriff’s Deputy Paul Schrader had also thrown their names into consideration.
McMahon will fill the remainder of Hoops four-year term, which expires January 2015, when he retires at the end of December.
