UPLAND – Tonight’s City Council meeting will be the last for Councilman Ken Willis, who has served in this position since 2000.

Willis has decided to retire and will be replaced by newly elected Councilman Glenn Bozar.

Willis will be recognized for his service by the council, community and several other dignitaries at the beginning of the meeting at 7 p.m.

“It’s time to look for other things to do,” he said.

Willis said he will continue serving on various water boards in the region, including Upland’s San Antonio Water Company Board.

“The water process isn’t something that you want to treat in a lackadaisical matter,” he said. “It’s technical and periodically complicated and there’s opportunities to do more things there. I’ve always liked water and spent a lot of years pursuing water issues.”

Willis also plans on traveling with his wife, Jane, and getting involved with local charities.

He recently sold his Upland business, League of California Homeowners, a nonprofit homeowners advocacy organization.
