SAN BERNARDINO – City Attorney James F. Penman used his comment period at Monday’s City Council meeting to defend an earlier comment that residents worried about crime should “lock your doors and load your guns,” saying similar advice has proven correct before.

Newly elected and returning Republican members of the California Senate voted unanimously Sunday to retain Huff, of Walnut, in the leadership position.

SACRAMENTO • Nearly a month after Election Day, revised vote tallies on Monday showed that Democrat Steve Fox narrowly beat out Republican businessman Ron Smith to win the 36th Assembly District, which includes Phelan, Wrightwood and Pinon Hills.
