The state Legislature’s members are scheduled to be sworn in on Monday but some Inland Valley voters can expect to see a new round of electioneering in the near future.

State Sen. Gloria Negrete-McLeod, D-Chino, is scheduled to trade her office in Sacramento for one in Washington, D.C. following her election Nov. 6 to the House of Representatives.

McLeod would have had two years remaining for her state Senate term. Her newly-drawn 20th Senate District is heavily Democratic and includes communities in Pomona, Chino Valley, Ontario, Fontana, Rialto, Colton and Grand Terrace.

At least three candidates have declared their intentions to run: Democrats Norma Torres and Larry Walker and Republican Kenny Coble.
