San Bernardino Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Josie Gonzales said she plans to ask her fellow supervisors to act quickly to fill the position vacated by retiring Sheriff Rod Hoops.

SBC IS AT A CROSSROADS, the foundation of our future at stake, AND Gonzales is ANNOYED it will INTERFERE with her CHRISTMAS VACATION if the appointment is not rubber stamped and rushed…

Just by Josie’s blank, dumb and dull stare, it is obvious SOMEONE needs to STEP UP, TAKE CONTROL, and put a STOP to all this stupidity and madness!!
FIRST: Hoops should NOT have ANY say so on who is going to be the captain of the VERY SAME SHIP he is turning his back on and ABANDONING! Some nerve! Hoops should be told what to do with his RECOMMENDATION!
IT WOULD BE HUMOROUS IF IT WEREN’T SOOO SERIOUS!
===County counsel needs to work furiously through the Thanksgiving weekend and then on November 27th, be front row and in full center of this meeting asking HOOPS a slew of questions! Such as, what’s the HURRY BUDDY! (and we all know it’s not that “foundation” job in Washington DC that will allow him to “work from HOME”).
Hoops is causing much chaos and DISTRESS by his sudden selfish urge to sleep in every morning.
Would Hoops do the right thing and work together with the BOS, maybe agree to take ONLY a SHORT LEAVE OF ABSENCE (to catch up on his sleep) until a solution, other than just appointing his pal, is worked out? WHY/WHY NOT?
Hoops should not walk out on 11/27th without being given the third degree by county councel, SBC has been walked all over and trampled on ENOUGH!
COUNTY COUNSEL, PLEASE GET OUR MONEY’S WORTH OUT OF HIM BEFORE HE MOCKINGLY TURNS HIS BACK ON US. OR BETTER YET…HOOPS…BE A MAN, NOT A MOUSE… JUST FINISH WHAT YOU STARTED…YOUR FULL TERM!
#3 There is a new law starting Jan. 1 2013 that states if you are in office or a government employee after this date and found guilty of a felony, you will loose your retirement. Also this job in DC is not a job but only in name. Why go from sheriff to just a name on a list with other names that don’t get paid nor do anything? Rod I want you to leave after the first of the year.
What’s the hurry Rod? Stay around for the New Year. I am sure your boy will not be appointed. The people are sick of the appointment process from appointed sheriff to appointed sheriff.

Stop picking on “my” Hoops; I understand many want a piece of him, and I want to share him, but you’ll leave nothing to our friends at county counsel, besides, he has NOTHING to hide and will be more than happy to easy the ANXIETY and CHAOS created by his WHIM to leave.

Same old process same old result. Josie wants to move quickly so that they don’t have to conduct real interviews of qualified personnel from outside the county. They all want the new sheriff to be beholden to them, what ever happened to doing the right thing for the right reason. Our county will not change until the leaders want to change and then their behaviour follows their thoughts. I’m not holding my breath for change while Josie is at the helm.

That oath seems to be telling Hoops he owes a DUTY to the public NOT to retire…what is he, a very healthy, 50 years old?
On November 27 at 10:00am about 200 people are going to be at the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors meeting at 385 N. Arrowhead Avenue, San Bernardino. They are going to protest the backdoor deals. The time has come to tell Josie no to McMahon which is Hoops negotiated pick. Brown Act??? If she goes through with this and anyone that votes for this will be named in part of a recall. Bye Bye Josie. Let the voters make the call for sheriff. NO MORE BACKDOOR DEALS BOARD!!!If anyone is sick of this come out and let the board know.

San Bernardino County has hopefully decided to finally CARE for each other, grow a backbone and watch out for each others backs.
Besides, we need Hoops around to show us where ALL the bodies are buried. Then he can go to…hmm, to where ever he wants, and “Sleeping Beauty” can sleep in all day and night until his golden curly hair grows back.
