State Senator Bob Dutton (R-Rancho Cucamonga) either isn’t sure about his chances of defeating Congressman Gary Miller (R-Rancho Cucamonga) or has no intention of serving in the U.S. House of Representatives more than six years.
Both men are seeking to represent the 31st Congressional District.
On June 29, 2012, a previously formed committee was amended to create ‘Taxpayers for Bob Dutton for Supervisor 2018’.
As of September 30, 2012, the committee reported a cash balance of $206,891. An amount Dutton cannot spend on his current race per federal election laws.
It’s easily foreseeable to see Dutton re-designate this committee for a supervisorial bid against County Supervisor Janice Rutherford in 2014, not 2018, should he be unsuccessful in his congressional contest.
Which set of constituents does he want to represent?
– Supervisory District 2 (which does not include Redlands)in 2014
– Supervisory District 2 (which does not include Redlands)in 2014
– Assembly District (though I understand he decided not to pursue) 2012
– Congressional District 31 (which is different from Assembly district and Supervisory district) …
The people in the Inland Empire are not options on a buffet table …
Dutton lives in Rancho Cucamonga. He would be a worthy addition to the Board of Supervisors. Especially compared to the empty suit that now holds the position. Janice Rutherford is a Democrat endorsing fool. She endorsed Cheryl Brown for Assembly over Republicans for that position. She has endorse Democrat James Ramos against Republican Neil Derry for County Supervisor. And she completely whored herself out to make Superstar Brainiac Josie Gonzalez Chair of the Board of Supervisors. SELLOUT!
because of dutton’s local contacts perhaps he would best be running for local position…especially if dutton keeps espousing that he is local… dutton nor anyone can fight from outside the boxing ring (405 Beltway). that is one reason why miller is the better choice.
Comment 1 made me laugh, trying to paint Dutton as someone looking at seats as “options on a buffet table.” reminds me of Gary Miller shopping the state for districts after he realized he couldn’t win his current seat. By the way, the 31st was his 3rd choice. He also came close to running in the 8th.
This is really a non-issue. If you watched his last debate with Miller he explained it was due to campaign finance law, there are regulations on how he can move the money he’s raised over the years. As the article stated it’s money he can’t use in his Congressional big, so it had to go somewhere while he closed his old accounts.
ANYONE BUT THE WHORE RUTHERFORD. LYING SACK OF SHIT. NO OTHER WAY TO DESCRIBE IT.
#4, if it is due to campaign finance laws why does he still have an Assembly account, Senate account and a Supervisor account? Seems like he could just have one. Also, why did he form this 2018 account in June? He already had a 2014 account. Why was we worrying about that account just a few weeks after the primary and receiving donations in that account while running for Congress? No one gives money to a candidate if he will never spend it. Seems like he is trying to position himself for another office. One account, maybe just to have a state account. But 4 (with the federal) and still receiving donation in that account? The voters will see him as he is… a politician looking for the next seat.
#1 – Aren’t these 4 campaign accounts still open? How is it that Dutton said it was closed when they are still open according to the website?
Better yet, WHY did Dutton do this other than desire to shift money around?
#7, exactly!
LOL Pretty sure #7 and #8 are the same person. There are laws in how you are allowed to consolidate accounts, sorry to break it to you.
Think about it logically. In June, Dutton was in 2nd place by just under a thousand votes after getting outspent (literally) 11 to 1. What reason would he have to think he actually needed to launch a bid for supervisor? Obviously he had a good shot at it, having so much stuff thrown at him and still being in a close top 2. And things only went up since there. That was around the time he did his poll and found he was up by 5 points among likely voters in the general election, so it’s just not logical to think he was actually planning a bid for another office while still in the midst of this election. Sorry.
#9, He already had a 2014 Supervisor account. Why open a 2018 account in June? What is the logic in opening an account just weeks after a primary?
#9 – sorry but you are wrong … I remain “Anonymous” always. Unless you are also #1,2,3,4,5,6,7 ,8 10 and 11 , etc… You don’t know what you don’t know.
