State Assemblyman Paul Cook (R-Yucca Valley) received a strong boost to his pretty much invisible campaign last week.
According to records, filed with the Federal Election Commission, the Spirit of Democracy America PAC has just expended approximately $181,000 in support of Cook’s bid to represent the newly-formed 8th Congressional District.
The funds were mostly spent on campaign literature mailings.
Cook is running against Businessman and Tea Party favorite Greg Imus (R-Lake Arrowhead).
The PAC’s primary expenditures for Cook were primarily funded by contributions from the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians.

Hey there, Cook…you have been quite busy in assisting James Ramos by staining, I mean, lending your name and making false claims of praise that Ramos, a failed and bankrupt businessman, will “restore fiscal order” to the Third District.
Mr. Cook, since you and Ramos have become ONE, why not be a good pal and stand in for him at all the public forums he is refusing to attend…
“… (Ramos) has already ducked out on two forums in Lucerne Valley and Yucca Mesa, is now giving Loma Linda the cold shoulder.”
Cook, in the last years of your life, you sold out…a shame you can never undo!

Many Republican leaders support a leader. James Ramos has proven to be a leader and not a criminal like his opponet. Paul Cook doesn’t obey party bosses and want to raise taxes with the 999 plan like liberal Extremist Gregg Imus
Liberal Extremist Gregg Imus? Are you kidding me? Imus is a conservative tea party guy. That’s the opposite of what you called him. You obviously are just throwing out stuff (malarky) to try to make Cook look good. Cook is the one playing with liberal Democrats and taking their money. Ramos is no leader, just a puppet with lots of money.
Cook – what specific and evidence-based (with sourced references) information do you have to substantiate your endorsement of Ramos?

#5 GoCook – “James Ramos has proven to be a leader”
- what has he actually led for the public good?
- how has he conveyed this to the public (sorry – writing a check for $$$ is not the same as leading or conveying his position)
I received a mailer today informing me how “Colonel” Paul Cook is endorsed by District Attorney Mike Ramos.
I also received a “Voter Information Guide” from SEBA, which also informs me to vote for “Col.” Cook and includes the Paul Biane Wanted Poster that Mike Ramos rolled out in a showboating press conference.
I was not considering voting for Paul Cook anyway, but this makes it official.
I am officially taking the position that an endorsement by Mike Ramos is an excellent reason to vote for his opponent.
