Will the U.S. Department of Labor come to President Barack Obama’s aid Friday morning?
One never knows.
Just nine hours after the President gives his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina on Thursday night, the Labor Department’s, Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), will release the employment report for the month of August.
A report that most expect will not bode well for Obama.
But then again!
The BLS has been notorious, over the past year or so, for reducing the available work force number, used in the calculations, and thereby dropping the unemployment rate.
Even though minimal job creation is taking place.
It’ll be interesting to see if the July unemployment rate of 8.3% drops. Particularly since weekly first-time jobless benefit claims has been averaging around 365,000 over the past four weeks.
