New unemployment claims remain elevated

First-time claims for unemployment benefits remained at elevated levels last week.

New claims came in at 374,000. The previous week’s number was revised upward by 2,000.

Obama lead in poll average erodes

President Barack Obama’s lead in an average of polls conducted over the past 10 days has eroded to it’s lowest level in months.

An average of 7 polls listed on the RealClearPolitics.com website has Obama with a lead of just 0.7% over GOP Candidate Mitt Romney.

Eastwood rumored to be surprise speaker at RNC

It’s rumored Thursday morning that Actor Clint Eastwood will be a surprise guest speaker at the Republican National Convention tonight.

Should it happen it will be a definite attention getter regardless of party affiliation.

Oral Argument set in Colonies case

The California Fourth District Court of Appeal, Division 2, has set oral argument in the highly-publicized Colonies case for Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 1:30 p.m in Riverside.
