Republican National Convention sources say Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney has commenced the formation of his transition team, should he be elected the next President of the United States.
One of those leading that effort will be Former Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor and Senior Campaign Advisor Kerry Healey.
Healey, who is highly-trusted by Romney, in addition to being a former Lieutenant Governor who served with him from 2003 to 2007, also serves as Foreign Policy Coordinator and Special Advisor on the Romney for President Campaign. Healey is also the Republican National Committeewoman for the state of Massachusetts, and serves on the board of numerous charities and political organizations. She is a member of the Republican Party, and was the Republican candidate in the 2006 Massachusetts gubernatorial election.
Healey possesses a Bachelor of Arts degree in government from Harvard University.
Usually the person designated as such, in the course of a successful presidential campaign, is a front-runner for the position of White House chief of staff.
An indicator of Healey’s status in the Romney organization is the mere fact she is scheduled to speak at 9:00 p.m.Thursday evening.
Just one hour before the nominee takes the stage, and one-hour after Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush..
