A former Rancho Cucamonga attorney, now banned from the practice of law, is currently on the receiving end of three civil lawsuits.
Two of the lawsuits against James Reiss were filed in San Bernardino County Superior Court by former clients Lupe Tapia and John Dickerson.
Both are seeking damages related to the alleged mishandling of their respective cases.
A third small claims action has also been filed against Reiss by California Depositions alleging non-payment.
Reiss, who handled the high-profile case of Former Rancho Cucamonga Councilman Rex Gutierrez, was stripped of his law license by the State Bar of California last January for multiple sustained charges involving misuse of client trust funds and other misconduct.

A lawyer was out hiking with a friend when they encountered a mountain lion. The lawyer dropped his pack and got ready to run.
“You’ll never outrun a hungry mountain lion!” exclaimed his friend.
“I don’t have to outrun him,” replied the lawyer. “I just have to outrun you!”
HA HA HA……Rex’s lawyer huh? Birds of a feather! Pay attention Burum, Karma is a bitch.
Terrorists have seized a courthouse.
Unless their demands are met, they are threatening to release one attorney every hour.
Very sad, Jim was a very good attorney for a long time. Not sure where or why things went bad, but I wish him and his family the best. I hope he comes out of this.
RBO – agreed
Wouldn’t wish this hell on anyone’s career- hopefully he can soon fix the damage he caused, and put it behind him.
Jim is a good man and has helped many in his life.
