Richards

As expected, members of the California Fish and Game Commission has removed local real estate developer Dan Richards as its chairman.
Richards became a focus of controversy last February, when he shot and killed a mountain lion during an Idaho hunting trip.
Following the incident, Wildlife groups unsuccessfully demanded Richards ouster from the commission, even though Richards actions were legal in both state’s.

Good
Bullshit!
Repairman:
On what basis do you consider this “good?”
Have you ever heard Dan Richards speak at a Fish and Game Commission meeting? I have, and he is intelligent and articulate, and as a lifetime hunter and fisherman added balance to a commission dominated by environmentalists, such as the commissioner who works for the Audubon Society.
Besides offending some people by being outspoken, it seems to me that the only thing he did that was “wrong” was to offend a few others by engaging in a hunting activity that was totally legal.
I would be interested to learn the qualifications of the person who replaced him.
Observer of Facts:
Using dogs , horses, guides, and GPS tracking system he was able to shoot and kill a cornered, exhausted, and panicked animal out of a tree with a high powered rifle. Some big time hunter.
Repairman:
You clearly do not know the first thing about hunting or wildlife management practices in Idaho. I recommend that you do a little research.
In the meantime, you have come across as the type of left wing nut that many radical animal rights groups would welcome as a member.
@observer of facts:
he is proud to be left wing, we need more of them in this state. Richards is a fascist
Jackoff – your naming Richards as a “facist” could be no further from the truth. Try again?
No Meeeeowwwwww, it’s catshit!
Jack:
Regarding your Comment #6, I have no problem with somebody being “left wing,” as long as they assert informed opinions where facts take precedent over stereotyping.
Comment #4 failed to do so.
So who president now? Last years P.E.T.A president?
P.E.T.A. Sounds like a good cookout.
Pork
Elk Roast
Turkey
Alligator Tail
“The cuter the critter the sweeter the meat”
LSW… Have you ever tasted catshit?
Observer of Facts:
If he had done it himself I would fell differently. But as far as I’m concerned he bought and paid for a kill to satisfy his blood lust.
Observer of Facts:
In my #4 comment there was no stereotyping just facts. He hired a guides with dogs, horses, GPS systems to find and tree a mountain lion so he could just show up pop a cap in it’s head (from a safe distance) with a high powered rifle, beat his chest , act like he really did something big, get his picture in a newspaper, and have a new piece of home decor.
The guy is a P.O.S.
“…he bought and paid for a kill to satisfy his blood lust.”
#12 AND YOUR PROBLEM WITH THAT IS…WHAT?
It was all done LEGALLY and BY THE BOOK!
BTW, since I don’t hunt (because I’d miss) I want to see more of those hunting pictures to satisfy my own blood lust!
Anonymous #14:
I’ll bet you do.
The F & G comm. has dishonored itself and shoved a stick deep in the eye of every legal sportsman/woman in CA.
Mr. Richards is the winner: he exercised his legal rights, he didn’t bend to the mob and he’s inspired many who will work tirelessly to oppose the politically correct lunacy and restore CA to the golden glory it once enjoyed.
Thank you Mr. Richards.
JW – Amen to thatbrother! That’s what I’m talkin about!
Bang! Bang!
Tastes like Chicken?
LSW, for 100th time, your idiotic comments are best suited for that free for all Sharon Gilbert’s blog, stay over there please.
Repairman:
Comments #12 and #13 reinforce that you have no insight whatsoever into the facts.
Mr. Richards was on a ranch in Idaho to hunt geese; this mountain lion hunt was not even considered until the morning of the hunt because it had snowed the night before.
The ranchers decided to track the mountain lion, and asked Mr. Richards if he was interested in going along. The manager of the ranch is on the record as saying that his representatives were going to hunt it and kill it even if Mr. Richards did not join them. This is an element of wildlife management, a discipline that many California residents do not begin to understand.
It’s clear that you are not a hunter, and that’s fine. Some people who oppose hunting are satisfied to not own guns and to not go hunting. Others act like you.
Anon, have you ever tasted mountain lion jerky u jerk?
Only thing I’m interested in is that the meat didn’t go to waste.
Sorry if my attempts at humor continue to escape you… besides that, go ahead and eat catshit and die!
OOF…..It doesn’t matter. It may have been perfectly legal to kill that cat, but it was perfectly wrong for the f&g president of California to do so. Now that he is no longer president let him go hunt what ever he wants.
BTW, the killing of that cat is no different than if he would have went to a brothel in Nevada. It’s legal, but we need better moral judgement from our leaders.
Good riddance to Dan Richards! also get a more recent picture of him. The one above looks like it was taken in the 80s and in actuality, he currently looks like a bloated and pudgy Mickey Rourke.
If Repairman knew anything about hunting big cats he would know
you need hounds and horses to get the cats. You don’t find tracks
and stalk them like a deer.
The country these cats live in dictate that. They are smart, cunning tuff
who hunt mostly at night.
Mountain lions are at the top of the food chain and unless hunted and
controlled can kill more than their share of wildlife and domestic
live stock.
Something the tree huggers are clueless about and showed their
ignorance at the first public meeting that took place on this incident.
I believe COMMUNIST Commiefornia is the ONLY state that does
not allow hunting of lions.
As a result of that feel good policy the lions have hurt the deer herds
in this state.
Great idea to protect one specie that can decimate several others.
Only in Commiefornia.
AntiCorruptionUnit :
Your quite the apologist.
AntiCorruptionUnit:
Why is someone like you still living in Commiefornia?
Lol Repairman I thought you would have a response like this.
Anyways how’s the pig?
In response to why I am still here. It’s called present home values.
He wasn’t ousted for killing the lion. He was ousted for being a contributor to what is left of the Republican party. On a side note, I agree with replacing his picture with his current ugly mug.
AntiCorruptionUnit:
Your one of his mouth pieces, you tell me.
Good day Repairman.
AntiCorruptionUnit:
And good day to you sir.
This is a rather interesting string. What by the way is wrong with having a hunter on the Fish and Game Commission? Isn’t it intended to manage hunting and fishing? Isn’t it funded by hunting and fishing licenses? Do some of you think it should be dominated by a bunch of liberal wackos who hate hunting and fishing.
What should the new job requirements be, membership in the Weather Underground or maybe participating in a raid freeing animals and smearing paint on the walls at a science lab at a university? I expect the real but hidden agenda here is to eventually shut down hunting and fishing in California. Am I wrong?
#32…..Yes you are wrong. There is nothing wrong with a hunter being president of the F&G. However, he should abide by the standards or laws of the agency he represents. This is equivalent to an agency leader flying to Amsterdam and smoking drugs for a week. It is certainly legal, but no one in their right mind would want a public leader openly doing this.
Where is Logical Guy?
I miss him!
Red Anon states, “This is equivalent to an agency leader flying to Amsterdam and smoking drugs for a week.”
WHAT?!…EQUIVALENT?!
Red Anon, you are soooo OFF BALANCE! No wonder your comments make your blush, they are silly!
The president of G & F should definitely be a PRACTICING what he PREACHES! Now did I really need to say that, is it not common sense for crying out loud!
#35……I agree, but again he needs to respect the laws of the entity he represents. There is nothing off balance about it. If hunting cats is more important to him then he shouldn’t be president of F&G. Apparently his pears agree.
#36 Please cut the bs about him not respecting the laws! You only sound uninformed and foolish.
Not only does he respect the laws and regulations, he lives and breaths them by the book!
He does NOT just chat about hunting and wildlife over fruity cocktails, he understands and PRACTICES it – so who better to head this organization?
Perhaps his (liberal)peers are envious,if not jealous, of his courage and bravery-both on and off the hunting grounds.
And the only thing his “peers” agree on is that he is NOT a PETA liberal, so out they did with him.
THERE GOES THE BACK BONE OF OUR COUNTRY.
The mountain should have ate local real estate developer Dan Richards.
But, Mr. Hunter… nobody wishes for the mountain to eat YOU solely because your last name is HUNTER!
So why wish for Mr. Richards to be eaten SOLELY because he is a HUNTER?
I just don’t understand why today’s “modern men” are so threatened by the “Mr. Richards” hunting types.
A HUNTER was once known and respected for being a provider and protector.
Why have liberal men become SO squeamish?!
Today’s generation seems to be being raised by a woman and a “girly” man, resulting in all this fuss over a MAN going HUNTING and eating his prey.
And there is some song that says, “…she had a boyfriend, he looked like a girlfriend…” a refection of our UNNATURALLY changing society?
“Thanksgiving Day was approaching, and a family had received a Thanksgiving card with a painting of a pilgrim family on its way to church. Grandma showed the card to her small grandchildren, observing, “The pilgrim children liked to go to church with their mothers and fathers.” “Oh, yeah?” her grandson replied, “So, why is their dad carrying that rifle?”"
