Developers behind on their property taxes to Riverside County will have to pay up before their zoning applications can be processed under a new policy adopted by county supervisors.

Unpaid property taxes accrue outrageous penalties and interest; it’s almost like an investment for the county.
As one Supervisor said, “the taxes are eventually going to get paid.”
Of course, if the Supervisors cooperate with the developers and wait it out, there are fewer opportunities available for grandstanding.
