County Supervisor Neil Derry left. Former San Manuel Tribal Chairman James Ramos right.

San Bernardino County Supervisor Neil Derry picked up an unexpected supporter for his pension reform proposal this past week.
His opponent.
Former San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Chairman James Ramos, who is challenging Derry in November, is supportive of Derry’s leadership in securing real pension reform.
In a Daily Press story, published last week, a spokesperson for Ramos did not take issue with the Derry proposal to scale back pension formulas and mandate employees pay their own contributions.
Here’s the excerpt from the story;
A spokesperson for former San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Chairman James Ramos, who is running against Derry in the November election, did not take issue with the outlines of Derry’s plan.
“It isn’t any secret that the county cannot maintain its current budgetary path with its large unfunded pension liability,” Ramos’ spokesperson Andre Levesque said. “James Ramos supports pension reform that will make the program more solvent and bring more fiscal restraint to our county budget.”
County unions, who backed Ramos, must be feeling a little naked right about now.
However, politics aside, addressing the pension system is the right thing to do.

James Ramos understands the need, just as public employees do, to prevent pension abuses and to ensure a stable retirement system that provides hard working employees with a retirement with dignity after years of service. Retirement with dignity should be available to everyone and we should be working to ensure its availability. James Ramos believes reforms that are needed can be achieved at the bargaining table without wasting millions of dollars on ballot initiatives and court battles. Supervisor Derry supported and voted for increased pension formulas in the past. Derry’s current disingenuous rhetoric is more motivated by sour grapes for those that didn’t support his re-election and desperation as those that previously supported him flee and announce their support for Ramos. Derry’s pathetic pandering for votes can’t overcome the three words that describe his current term best – “Guilty, your Honour…”
When the press seeks an opinion from James Ramos regarding issues he would be handling as supervisor, he STILL is unable to think or speak past; “My name is Elmer J. Fudd. Miwwionaire. I own a mansion and a yacht.”
Now Ramos is saying, “uh, yeah…what HE said”
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
REALLY???
THE HORROR!!
PLEASE TELL ME THIS “BOB” FELLOW IS NOT TELLING US WHAT JAMES RAMOS “THINKS” AND “UNDERSTANDS”
WHERE’S JAMES RAMOS? THROWING UP? ANXIETY ATTACKS?
Elmer Fudd, aka, James Ramos, “Fwankwy, ignowance is the best policy.”
Sounds as if Mr. Blough is a little nervous these days.
Another SBPEA blunder maybe?
“Derry’s pathetic pandering for votes can’t overcome the three words that describe his current term best – “Guilty, your Honour…”
It also sounds as if Mr. Blough is REPAIRMAN- SAME SONG AND DANCE, about the charges. Blough keeps forgetting WE VOTERS know who composed those charges and the corrupt political motives behind them… we are HOPPING MAD about it, take your candidate home WE ARE NOT INTERESTED IN YOUR PUPPET WHO CAN’T SPEAK FOR HIMSELF.
THE PRESS SHOULD WISE UP AND DEMAND TO SPEAK TO JAMES RAMOS DIRECTLY…OR STATE HE REFUSED TO COMMENT! WE DON’T NEED BLOUGH TELLING US “WHAT JAMES RAMOS BELIEVES!”
Must we be reminded about that dumbbell ramos? You would think anyone as stupid as he would hide out of fear people would recognize hes not very bright. But no, that fake mexican Indian Ramos just keeps showing his big fat stupid face all over the internet.
It concerns us that Bob Blough is so pleased with james ramos, a man not worth listening to. somehow because ramos has millions, Blough speaks as if ramos is a wise god—when the reality is, james ramos can not even communicated with the COMMON HERD
and because ramos can not make himself understood to us nor the press, Bob Blough will be sitting to his right, if elected, in order for him to translate what ramos “believes” and ‘understands”
it’s never too late to do the right thing and reconsider
You are an f-ing idiot. Ramos endorses Derry’s pension measure and you now claim he doesn’t? Well, well, well, guess your chosen gambling boss doesn’t care so much after all? At least his team could have had a slightly less embracing endorsement! Or is that “embarrassing” endorsement:) As a County Employee, you Blob Bough are a douche bag!
Hey blowhard… You are an idiot. Mr. Blough is not a county employee
….oooooo hey, Interesting makes such a brilliant point! lol!
Blough is correct. This is nothing more than Derry desperately trying to capitalize on a subject that if he was sincere about, he would have worked on along time ago. He half stepped the last four years because he thought he was going to garner union support and when he didn’t he went on the attack. The rest of you are just mad because once again Ramos pulled the wind out of Derry’s sails by agreeing with him when everyone expected the opposite. This issue will carry no weight in November’s election as both candidates agree that change is needed. Now with absolutely no support, except for the 5 people on this blog site, and no money, Derry is a goner come November.
Bust a deal, spin the wheel. The BOS as an entity made a deal in lieu of other remuneration. Now that 5th floor pet projects have no funding, they want to take it from employees. Nice! Put Ramos on the BOS and Indian giver will be appropriate.
Unwilling……Good one! I just have one question for you, “who runs barter town?”
MASTA BLASTA!
Face it, there is no in lieu of other renumeration. Deflation of housing bubble pension pacts, caviar and champagne wishes.
Ask Mario for sales tax receipts for SuperWalmart.
Carol. Sorry, but Riverside county did just that and had almost unanimous support from the unions. Employees gave a raise and Sups agreed to the pension kick. Kind of like the bank telling you that after 30 years of paying on the house, they mad a mistake and you still need to pay another 5 years.
