Negrete-McLeod

It’s official!

The California High-Speed Rail Project is a go, thanks to State Senator Gloria Negrete-McLeod (D-Chino).

Yes, the termed-out senator cast the deciding 21st vote needed to green light the bill to Governor Jerry Brown’s desk late Friday afternoon.

All in a state that is essentially broke and addicted to spending.

Brown is expected to sign the measure, which authorizes $4.5 billion in transportation bond funds to be used to start construction out in the middle of nowhere.

The purported $68 billion project price tag could easily escalate to $100 billion.

An expensive boondoggle for a state that can’t manage its own finances.

One can expect this little foray to further color state voters on Brown’s tax increase ballot measure.
