I am not sure but I think Independence Day somewhat represented independence from all that was wrong under persecution and tyranny. Without getting into the obvious and the specifics. “Power in defense of freedom is greater than power on behalf of tyranny and oppression”. I hate to mention who quoted this. I once believed in this county and it’s leaders. Back in the seventies and early eighties there was an unsaid understand between both sides and they stayed out of each others way. Yes, there was some sideline deals and no good shenanigans took place I am sure. But no one got hurt at “any” expense. I am not saying that what went on was right, but it definitely should not have led to where we end up today.
The judges decided what would have happened with the settlement, three times. I know when the balance of power is off and being abused. The key word is, abused. There were many law breakers that got away, but I was never willing to compromise the law—never.
A man stepped forward and admitted to the feds that no quid pro took place. The question is, why do they act as if prosecution is still possible? As if no one said it never happened? As if he never went to the feds with this information? Even the papers leave this important bit of information out, after they have reported it in the past.
How much monies are our leaders going to allow him to spend on this? The case of the century!
John Adams
2nd U.S. President and Signer of the Declaration of Independence
“Suppose a nation in some distant Region should take the Bible for their only law Book, and every member should regulate his conduct by the precepts there exhibited! Every member would be obliged in conscience, to temperance, frugality, and industry; to justice, kindness, and charity towards his fellow men; and to piety, love, and reverence toward Almighty God … What a Eutopia, what a Paradise would this region be.”
