A city with no properly balanced budget in sight.
The city of San Bernardino has announced it will operate under continuing resolutions for the foreseeable future.
Why?
Because the municipality is essentially bankrupt.
Adopting a balanced budget under generally accepted accounting principles would reveal the city has an enormous deficit and is operating with a structural deficit that most likely cannot be repaired with a chapter 9 filing.
A move essential for the city to break existing wage and benefit agreements with labor unions.
Serious consideration will almost likely be given to the idea contracting law enforcement services with the sheriff’s department, in addition to converting the city-operated refuse division to a franchise.
Lastly, we will soon know just how much money the city improperly diverted from its now defunct redevelopment agency.
The big question is how long will Mayor Pat Morris keep everyone in the dark.

Pat Morris has found out he is incapable of running the city. He will not seek re-election, according to his statements to NBC news. The Sun is in the dark. Still living in fantasy world of RDA. Republicans and Democracts have failed the ” Up for Property Rights” Test. Remember Kelo?
Stand Up for Prpoerty Rights.
Letters to city can be found on Dept of Finance website: Eops letters. Rejected, movie theater, SBX….
If the Sheriff is going to be the lawman of the one the Nation’s largest metros, how about a real race for election. Why do we have a Mexican style sucession by outgoing sheriff — the dedo?
I am so disappointed with SB over my fight with the City.
